Connect Through Values
Bringing things together is definitely a core value of what we do here at Lately — to quote Jack Johnson, it’s better when we’re together! Leave it to one of our spotlight customers, David Beckford (yes, that David, the founder of Dynasty Television!) to show us all how to truly harness the magical, people-uniting power of shared values (with of course, some Lately dashboard sidekick assistance) to engage and connect with a broad network of customers and affiliates.
Values as Common Ground
As founder of a marketing firm in the entertainment industry, it’s a no-brainer that David enjoys music, song, and creative content. But David doesn’t just enjoy it; he also leverages the wide-reaching power of these entertainment mediums as an integral part of his marketing, sharing values and lending voices to millions of viewers and listeners across the country every. single. day. What’s truly exciting is that messages being spread through his marketing are not only serving the interests of his affiliates and their clients, but also making a greater impact on the world! In David’s own words, “we might be able to affect some consciousness and affect the way people are operating and getting along in their own communities.” That being said, upping the ante on the effectiveness of your marketing can start with the simple act of recognizing the true impact of the values you are sharing with your audience.
Creating Content That Speaks Your Values
Now, you might have great values and key messaging (check out our post on that), but ultimately, the effectiveness comes down to the ability of the content to speak to your audience. David calls this split test marketing; the content you release to your different audiences has to connect to each one of them. On top of that, David also emphasizes the importance of making the content engaging. After all, we all know audience members certainly won’t bother to make any extra efforts to go out of their way to glean your message from an uninteresting post. For Dynasty Media, the ideal post to best reach their audience is a short, engaging, and under 30 seconds — a convenient way to speak values and solve problems in a time effective manner. What’s yours?
As Always, Metrics are Key
Once you’ve locked down the values you are communicating to your audience, get on the metrics! Make staying on top of your metrics a value in the company to make sure your campaigns stay effective and you’re continuing to stay interesting to your customer base. David does this with our very own Try Lately tools, which allow him to easily access analytics on different posts and send them to his affiliates. By connecting various different platforms on one dashboard, Lately can help save time and money, and truly take your marketing to another level. So what are you waiting for? You’ve got the content and we’ve got the vehicle for it — let’s start connecting!
