Think of a subject…there’ll be a podcast covering it. Unsurprisingly, marketing bods have taken to the podcasting genre with gusto and there are loads of great social marketing pods.
Let’s look at 10 of the podcasts that you should be listening to this year, in 2019.
1. Social Media Marketing Podcast
Social Media Examiner is the go-to site for all of your social marketing needs and they’ve also launched a weekly podcast called the Social Media Marketing Podcast…try saying that a couple of times when you’ve had few drinks.
It might not possess a snappy title, but it’s full of practical advice and looks in detail at all of the latest movements in the social media landscape and the recent trends you need to take notice of. It’s a site that’s known for being at the forefront of all things social, so you can bet that the podcast will be top-notch too.
2. The Social Media Pubcast
A pint and a podcast, what more could you want? Experienced marketer, Jon Loomer, creates a match-made in heaven by inviting a special guest to join him in the pub for a chat about all things social marketing.
The pod covers loads of different areas of social marketing, with actionable tips and great feedback about new marketing tools. Pubcast’s set-up makes for a really nice format and creates a casual, relaxed vibe.
3. Hashtag Authentic
Getting to grips with Instagram is super important if your target audience like to hang out there a lot and look no further than Sara Tasker, Instagram extraordinaire, for stellar advice on her pod, Hashtag Authentic.
In a nod to the pod, Sara gives you ways to present your business online in an original, unique and ‘authentic’ way, that doesn’t just copy-cat or piggyback off other business’ success. 4. The Science of Social Media
Buffer has a superb podcast called The Science of Social Media which we really recommend setting aside some time to listen to. It won’t feel like research or work, cos it’s light and fun to listen to, but absolutely jam-packed full of things you can start tweaking and changing in your social marketing campaigns as soon as you hit pause…or at least after you have a snack.
5. Perpetual Traffic
Molly Pittman and Ralph Burns are the brains behind podcast, Perpetual Traffic, which as the name suggests focuses on how your business can use paid traffic to create continuous growth. They discuss new, innovative strategies to use and they look at lots of different platforms, from Instagram to LinkedIn Ads – as we know, marketing gimmicks work differently from platform to platform.
6. Noah Kagan Presents Podcast
If you subscribe to Noah Kagan’s newsletter then you’ll know he’s a marketer with a unique style and doesn’t use heavy jargon and marketing mumbo-jumbo to connect with his audience. His podcast series sticks to the same rules and he has lots of different guests and industry insiders giving insight into how they grow their businesses and the marketing strategies they use. 7. Social Zoom Factor
Awesome social content is your business’ bread and butter and here at Lately we’re always cheerleading that mantra. Pam Moore couldn’t agree more (see what we did there eh) and her podcast Social Zoom Factor is set on giving you great tips for better social content. She covers how to improve content, calendars, campaigns…basically all the things that can optimize your business for social marketing success.
You might recognize Startup’s host, Alex Blumberg, as soon as you hear his voice. He’s the CEO of Gimlet Media, home and co-host of the fantastic tech and weird-internet-stuff podcast, Reply All, which you should totally listen to…after you listen to everything on this list, of course.
Anyway, Startup is relevant as it’s a pod where Alex interviews a different guest each week and grills them on how they got their business off the ground and running. It’s a real warts n all look at the time and energy that goes into growing a business, with some fantastic anecdotes and insight.

Not many people could get away with calling their podcast, Social Pros, but Convince and Convert’s Jay Baer and Salesforce’s Adam Brown are perfectly well-positioned to do so. They’re really experienced social marketers and have been there, done it and got the t-shirt, so their pod is full of cool tips, new trends and strategies that you should and shouldn’t be trying. Mixed in is interviews with business owners and marketers.
10. Good Social Media Podcast
Growth hacks, statistics, hella lot of tips – yes, Good Social Media Podcast is your one-stop shop for all things social marketing. It focuses on how we can use social media for good and how your business can make deeper, richer connections with your customers and audiences. It’s a bit different to traditional business podcasts, as it looks at the human impact of social media, how people use their devices and the habits we’ve created in our new digital world.
11. Mixergy Interviews
Packed full of personal insight, Mixergy interviews loads of marketers and entrepreneurs about how they caught a break and built their business. Hearing right from the horse’s mouth helps to flesh out stories properly and shows you the personality behind a brand – the interview style is super helpful when it comes to picking up tips and nuggets of info.
